Grinding Recommendations
Choosing the right grind is essential to get the best flavour from your coffee. Different brewing methods need different grind sizes, because the time the water stays in contact with the coffee changes the extraction.
Extra Coarse
Best for cold brew. This grind looks very chunky and allows for a long, slow extraction over several hours.
Coarse
Best for French press and cafetière. A coarse grind helps prevent over-extraction and keeps the cup full-bodied and balanced.
Medium Coarse
Best for Chemex and some manual brewers. This grind gives a clean cup while still allowing good flavour extraction.
Medium
Best for filter coffee machines and drip brewing. A medium grind is one of the most versatile options, producing a smooth and balanced coffee.
Medium Fine
Best for AeroPress and pour over methods. This grind allows slightly faster extraction while keeping clarity and sweetness in the cup.
Fine
Best for espresso. A fine grind is needed because espresso uses high pressure and a short extraction time. It helps produce a rich flavour and good crema.
Extra Fine
Best for Turkish coffee. This is the finest grind, almost powder-like, used for very intense and traditional brewing.
Why grind size matters
If the coffee is ground too coarse, the water passes through too quickly and the coffee may taste weak, sour, or under-extracted. If the coffee is ground too fine, the water extracts too much and the coffee may taste bitter or harsh.
Our recommendation
For the best results, always choose the grind size that matches your brewing method. The right grind helps you get the full aroma, body, and character from every coffee.

FAQ
What grind size should I use?
It depends on your machine. For espresso machines, use a fine grind. For a cafetière (French press), use a coarse grind. For filter or pour-over, medium works best. If you're unsure, your machine's manual will usually recommend a starting point and small adjustments go a long way.
Which machines are these beans suitable for?
All of our beans are suitable for both home and professional use espresso machines, bean-to-cup machines, manual brewers, and cafetières. If you have a specific machine in mind and aren't sure, feel free to get in touch.
How should I store my coffee?
Keep the bag sealed, in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid the fridge, the moisture and odours do more harm than good. Most of our bags are resealable, and once opened, we recommend using within 4–6 weeks for best flavour.
How long does it last?
All of our coffees carry a 24-month shelf life from the roast date. You'll find the best-before date on the back of the bag.
Do you offer free delivery?
Yes — free UK delivery on all orders over £30. Orders typically arrive within 3–5 working days.
What is your returns policy?
We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee — even on opened coffee. If you're not happy with the quality or flavour, contact us within 30 days at sales@dailycrema.co.uk. If approved, return the product (postage covered by you) and we'll issue store credit for the value of your order. Credit can be used on any Daily Crema product.
Where is the coffee roasted?
Our coffee is roasted by Verzi Caffè at their roastery in Sicily, Italy. They've been roasting since 2008 using a slow, artisanal process — each batch individually monitored to bring out the best of the bean.
